Getting Started
Get started as a governator/validator on NVNM Chain, alongside its parent L1 MANTRA Chain.
The way MANTRA Chain and the Cosmos ecosystem as a whole was designed is that to deploy/govern an L2, the L2 must also run corresponding nodes on the L1. You must first run a validator in the provider L1 chain.
First let's review the node infrastructure pre-requisites. These are applicable for both running a validator on MANTRA Chain and running the leaner governator node on NVNM Chain. The binaries can also run on a single machine if preferred. After that, we will walk through the steps to set up your node and become a validator on MANTRA Chain, which will allow you to then set up your NVNM Chain node and become a validator on NVNM Chain.
System Requirements
Ensure your system meets these minimum requirements:
- CPU: 4+ cores (≥3.5 GHz recommended for validators)
- RAM: 16GB minimum (32GB recommended for validators)
- Storage: 500GB+ SSD, 5000+ IOPS (2TB+ NVMe recommended for validators)
- Network: 25+ Mbps (100+ Mbps recommended for validators)
Note
Bare metal servers are recommended over cloud VMs for optimal performance. See Chain Parameters for detailed requirements.
